The Montreal Impact is in Group C for the Orlando tournament

MONTREAL – MLS proceeded to the group draw of the MLS is Back Tournament on Thursday and the Montreal Impact is in group C with Toronto FC, New England Revolution and D.C. United.


The MLS is Back Tournament will host the 26 MLS teams starting on July 8, at the ESPN Wide World of Sports complex at the Walt Disney World Resort, in Orlando, Florida, and will allow the MLS to resume its 25th season in a compelling way, similar to a Fifa World Cup format.


The 14 teams in the Eastern Conference are divided in group A, C and E, and the 12 teams from the Western Conference are in group B, D and F. Each team will play three times in the group phase. The top two teams of each group along with the four best third-place finishers will move on to the knockout stage. The final will be held on August 11. The results from the group phase will also count in the MLS regular season and the winner of the tournament will earn a spot in the 2021 Scotiabank Concacaf Champions League.


The schedule for the games and the broadcast will be known at a later date.
