The Montreal Impact announced on Tuesday the addition of Mistral de Sherbrooke to its Scouting and Development Centre. It will be the first club outside of the greater Montreal region and the fifth club to join the program after Club de soccer Mont-Royal Outremont, Club de soccer St-Lazare Hudson, Association de soccer Saint-Lambert and Club de soccer Boucherville.

“I’m really happy with this new association with Mistral de Sherbrooke, the flagship soccer club in Estrie,” said the Montreal Impact administrative director of soccer operations Patrick Leduc. “It’s important for the Impact and its Academy to have strong links with its partners outside of Montreal’s region.”

“We are really happy to host the Impact in Sherbrooke and that our players will benefit from this great experience,” said the Mistral de Sherbrooke sporting director Michel Couturier.

The training sessions with Sherbrooke will start in February, while the club staff will participate in a coaching education session held by the Academy. Some Mistral teams will also be invited to participate in the next Pre-Academy Festivals.
