Impact U19 dismantles D.C. United

Playing at Segra Field in the American capital, the Impact U19 got on the board early and didn’t look back, adding another three points to the USSDA standings. Matthew Catavolo opened the scoring in the seventh minute, followed by first-half goals from Tomas Giraldo, Cedric Toussaint, and Moulay Abdallah Kanzi Belghiti. Belghiti was able to score two more after the break, completing his hat-trick, while Junior Kabwe got his name on the scoresheet as well.

The Impact U19, led by head coach and Academy director Philippe Eullaffroy, is now second in its division behind the Philadelphia Union.

Impact visits New York Soccer Club

Nicolas Gagnon’s men needed just one half to take all three points against NYSC, getting things started within the first minute, when Christopher Jean Leger tapped in a header from a cross. Then, in the 27th minute, Matteo Schiavoni kept up his form, doubling his team’s lead in the 27th minute, this time on a pass from Leger.

Schiavoni then scored a second three minutes later, making a great run in behind the defense and getting on the end of a ball from Samuel-Antoine Sinzidi before tucking it past the ‘keeper. The Impact U15 remains first in its division following the win.

Jason Di Tullio’s men also took on NYSC, and their leading scorer, Mouhamadou Kane, scored the opening goal for the visitors. Although the Impact U17 dominated most of possession, they were unable to find that crucial second goal, and NYSC managed to tie the game with 30 seconds to go.

Upcoming games

The Impact Academy teams will be in Bradenton, Florida, for the inaugural Development Academy Winter Cup, from December 4 to 14. The Impact U17 qualifies after finishing second in its division, with a record of six wins, one loss, and one draw, while the Impact U19 finished sixth, with the first six teams advancing.
