Evan Bush is your Videotron Player of the Year

American goalkeeper’s consistency helps him win award for a second straight year

For those who need reminding, every game (almost), the Montreal Impact asks you, the supporters, to pick your Videotron Man of the Match through our mobile app. It’s always a choice between three Impact players who are having a good game, and the winner is announced once the game is over.

Now that the season has come to an end, we’ve crunched the numbers and it’s official: Evan Bush takes home the spoils for second consecutive year.

The man between the pipes started 32 games for the Impact in MLS this year, for a total of 2,880 minutes played, managing 84 saves and 11 wins for the club. To honour the ‘keeper, Videotron will make a donation to a charity of Evan Bush’s choice.

The race remained tight until the end this year, with French full-back Bacary Sagna finishing with 25 points, just one less than Evan Bush, while Saphir Taïder trailed closely with 24 points, along with Maxi Urruti, on 23 points, and Samuel Piette, with 22.
A special mention goes to Orji Okwonkwo, Bojan, and Lassi Lappalainen, who quickly climbed the ranks in the past few months, Okwonkwo in particular receiving two Man of the Match awards in this final stretch, to finish near the top of the table.
For our standings, the winner of the Videotron Man of the Match earns five points, whoever finishes second gets two points, and the player who finishes third gets one point.
