Videotron Man of the month - Bacary Sagna

For those who need reminding, every game (almost), the Montreal Impact asks you, the supporters, to pick your Videotron Man of the Match through our mobile app. It’s always a choice between three Impact players who are having a good game, and the winner is announced once the game is over.

This month, one particular defender stepped up with solid performances, earning two Man of the match nominations. He selflessly put the team first multiple times, even serving as a centre-back when injuries were piling up. With 10 points in the month of August, Bacary Sagna is your Videotron Man of the month.

It was a busy month for the Frenchman, who started five of his team’s six MLS games in August. He was successful on the scoresheet as well, scoring against Chicago and providing an assist on the game-winning goal against Vancouver.

A special shout out to the newest addition in the table, Bojan, whose first few performances with the Impact have already earned him eight points. Goalkeeper Evan Bush and forward Maxi Urruti also made progress this month, the Argentine scoring twice in August, while the American ‘keeper put up key performances.  

For our standings, the winner of the Videotron Man of the Match earns five points, whoever finishes second gets two points, and the player who finishes third gets one point.
