Creator of sparks

Bojan showed what he’s capable of in his first game

A cameo that lasted less than a half-hour, Saturday night in Chicago, allowed Montreal’s supporters to see what Bojan, the Impact’s new number 9, is capable of. The Catalan was a spark for Rémi Garde’s men despite the loss, and he showed he still possesses that magic touch, the same one that pushed numerous pundits to dub him the “future Messi” in the beginning of his career.

Bojan, entering the game in the 63rd minute in place of Canadian Shamit Shome, left his mark on this one, managing four dribbles, winning five duels and touching the ball 24 times, just four days after having joined the Impact. Although the result wasn’t favourable at the end, this individual performance is hopeful, and we can expect sunny days for Montreal’s offense: Bojan impressed by his passing quality, his exceptional vision, and his ability to eliminate a defender one on one.

We expect Bojan to play his first game at Stade Saputo this Saturday, August 17, when Maxi Urruti’s former club, FC Dallas, is in town. Excellent tickets are available here; if not, you can catch it on TVA Sports.
