LyesMTL is fourth before the last games of the regular season and the eMLS Cup playoffs

BOSTON, Massachusetts – The Montreal Impact and its eSports player supported by BMO, LyesMTL, will bring their second season in eMLS to an end, this Friday and Saturday, in Boston, at PAX East festival. Live coverage will be provided on the Impact’s Twitter account (@impactmontreal) on Friday and Saturday, while playoff games will be broadcast live on Twitch Saturday as of 1:30pm.

“I want to repeat the type of performance I had last year at the eMLS Cup, where I managed to reach the final,” said the Impact’s eSports player, LyesMTL. “My approach will be to take it one game at a time, starting with the 10 games left in the regular season. I would love to finish in the top two in the East to take advantage of the bye and qualify for the Conference semifinals, which remains an achievable goal. Of course, the main objective is to bring the eMLS Cup to Montreal.”

Objective: top 5 in the East

Currently fourth in the Eastern Conference and tied with the player in third after the eMLS League Series One and Two tournaments, with 10 games left to play against the Western Conference players, this Friday, LyesMTL is in a good position to qualify for the eMLS Cup playoffs, the competition’s final phase, which takes place on Saturday. The top five players in each Conference qualify directly for the playoffs, while every other player will fight for the sixth and last spot in a tournament on Saturday morning.

Two Impact players, one MLS player in a dream team

Exactly like last year, eSports players participating in eMLS tournaments create their teams based on the rules of the FIFA Ultimate Team game mode and must chose two players from the club they’re representing, as well as another MLS player, in their squad at all times. They can also choose among all active players in the EA SPORTS FIFA 19 game, excluding icons.

Without surprise, LyesMTL chose Nacho Piatti and his special SBC card rated 85. The Argentine Designated Player allows Lyes to create a strong chemistry link with fellow Argentine forward from Barcelona Lionel Messi and his Team of the Year card, and with Los Angeles Galaxy Designated Player Zlatan Ibrahimović and his Flashback card. He also opted for full-back Bacary Sagna, allowing him to have good chemistry with Real Madrid centre back Raphaël Varane and his Team of the Year card, and also with French forward Kylian Mbappé, who also has a Team of the Year card. Goalkeeper David de Gea, Real Madrid defenders Sergio Ramos and Marcelo, and midfielders Luka Modric and N’Golo Kanté complete LyesMTL’s starting 11.
