The Development Academy is back at Centre Nutrilait

If the Impact teams already started their 2018-2019 Development Academy season last weekend, this Saturday, they will officially play their first home game, as they host the teams from Empire United. The U15 team will play at 10am, the U17 at noon and the U19 at 2:30pm. Games are open to the public.

The three teams won their first games and are already top of their group, a position they will look to solidify during the rest of the season.

Last weekend

Impact U15 6-0 FC Westchester U15
Impact U15 3-2 Cedar Stars Academy U15
Impact U17 3-2 FC Westchester U17
Impact U17 3-0 Cedar Stars Academy U17
Impact U19 3-1 FC Westchester U19

The three Impact teams conceded only one goal per game on average, while the U17 and U19 teams scored three per game. The U15 scored an average of 4.5 goals per game.

With two games played, the Impact U15 and U17 already have a player each at the top of the scoring chart. Gabriel Antinoro (U15) scored a hat trick in his first game and added another the day after. Sean Rea (U17) scored one goal in each of the two games also and is tied with 13 other players with two goals.

Empire United

The Empire United teams had a tough start to the season against a good opponent, the New England Revolution, losing all their games last Saturday.

The day after, against the Boston Bolts, the U15 lost 3-1, the U17 won 2-1 and the U19 tied 3-3.

About Empire United

Located in West Henrietta, in the state of New York, Empire United Soccer Academy is the result of the consolidation of three local clubs – the Rochester Junior Rhinos, Syracuse Football Club and Buffalo United Soccer Club -, a fusion that took place in 2007.

Many of their alumni were successful, including Alex Bono, who is now the starting goalkeeper for Toronto FC, drafted by the team in 2015.
