Videotron Man of the match: Bush and Piette battle for top spot

Every game, the Montreal Impact asks you to pick your Videotron Man of the Match through our mobile app. It’s always a choice between three Impact players who are having a good game, and the winner is announced once the game is over.

In August, it’s the man between the posts that racked up the most points, thanks to two Videotron Man of the match nominations, in back to back draws against D.C. United and Real Salt Lake. Evan Bush has been stellar all season and ranks first in MLS for saves made with 108, and shots faced with 153.

With his 12 points earned in August, he grabs a share of the lead with Canadian Samuel Piette, who added another five points this month. Both Piette and Bush are the only two players on the squad to have started every game this season.

Two of the Impact’s newcomers got on the board as well, with midfielder Micheal Azira earning a second-place finish, while right-back Bacary Sagna was named Man of the match in his first game against the Chicago Fire.

For our standings, the winner of the Videotron Man of the Match earns five points, whoever finishes second gets two points, and the player who finishes third gets one point.

Here are the standings with just seven games remaining in the regular season:
