With three wins on Saturday against the teams from Seacoast United, the Impact once again showed how dominant it can be at Centre Nutrilait.
The Impact U15 won 2-1, improving its home record to nine wins and one loss. The U17 won 4-1, and boast seven wins and one loss at Centre Nutrilait, while the U19 remained perfect at home with its eighth win by a score of 5-0 this time.
A game of two halves for the U15 team
In the 20th minute, Denis Razvan Colici scored from an impressive 25 metres out, getting it right under the bar. A few minutes later, Keesean Ferdinand found Abdul Binate with a pass behind the defenders. Alone against the keeper, Binate scored and made it 2-0.
The second half was tougher for Montreal who, despite having the possession, couldn’t add to its lead.
Seacoast United scored in the 71st minute.
The goalkeeper Hamida-Jed Hmida made some important saves in the end of the game to prevent Seacoast from scoring a second goal.
The Impact U17 wins 4-1
The Impact U17 was not tricked into complacency against an opponent suffering at the bottom of the standings. Moulay Belghiti picked up where he left off last week with his hat-trick, scoring two goals this time, in the 25th and 53rd minute. He now has 10 goals this season.
Jérémie Omeonga also scored in the end of the first half, on a low cross from Oscar Marshall.
In the 65th minute, Sean Rea, who came in as a substitute, scored off a precise shot into the right corner.
Seacoast managed to score a goal in the 73rd minute, but still lost.
The Impact U19 shuts out its opponent
For a fourth straight game, Philippe Eullaffroy’s team shut out its opponent, this time with a 5-0 win.
In the first half, Tristan Resendes, Raphaël Garcia and Clément Bayiha added their names to the score sheet. In the second half, Daniel Kinumbe and Mathieu Choinière also scored.
Bayiha added two assists and Resendes one.
The striker and best scorer of the team, Vincent Lamy, made his return to the field as a substitute after suffering an injury that kept him away for a few months.
Next games
The three Academy teams in the Development Academy will play two games in two days next weekend, at Centre Nutrilait. On Saturday, they will face Players Development Academy and Sunday, Cedar Stars Academy.
On both days, the U15 will play at 10am, the U17 at noon and the U19 at 2:30pm. The games are open to the public.
