MONTREAL – The Montreal Impact announced on Wednesday that goalkeeper James Pantemis, who has trained with the first team since the beginning of the 2017 season, will travel to Italy from September 9 to 30 to train with Serie A club Bologna FC 1909.
“It’s an amazing opportunity to train with a Serie A club like Bologna FC 1909,” said James Pantemis. “It’s a dream come true for me. I’m looking forward to the experience.”
He will be the sixth Bleu-blanc-noir player to benefit from the synergy between the two clubs. Maxime Crépeau and Ballou Tabla are two of the players who have been able to benefit from this experience.
Previously with Lakeshore soccer club, Pantemis joined the Impact Academy in 2014. He played with the Impact U18 spanning two seasons, before joining FC Montreal in the USL in 2016, where he earned two starts.
He has also been a part of many national team camps. He was first called up to Canada’s U15 team in 2012. He also played with the U16, U17, U18 and U20 teams, before being called up for two senior team camps in 2017.
