6’2’’ centre-back has joined the squad
Fresh off the plane after arriving yesterday, centre-back Deian Boldor has already felt the Bleu-blanc-noir supporters’ passion. With nine Serie B games played with Hellas Verona last season – winning promotion to Serie A at the end of the campaign – under his belt, the 22-year-old is ready for the challenge and has been impressed by the city and the club’s infrastructure, addressing the media at Centre Nutrilait today.
“I finished my second training session with my teammates. It went well, I feel well,” said Boldor. “I made the choice to come to Montreal with my family. I am already impressed by the city, by the supporters and the passion I felt yesterday (during an exclusive meet-and-greet event for Members, editor’s note).”
Left-footed, physically imposing, and benefiting from an Italian tactical education, where defense is of the utmost importance, the Impact’s new number 35 has spoken to another player who was in Bologna before crossing the Atlantic to get privileged information on the city of a thousand steeples.
“I spoke with Blerim Dzemaili, whom I met in Bologna,” said the Romanian. “He spoked greatly of Montreal. By speaking with him, I quickly knew I wanted to come here.”
“I like to play with the ball and to be aggressive. I will let people be the judge of my play, but I come here to have an impact on the team and to make a good impression. I hope that we will reach our objective and make the playoffs, win our games and bring joy to our supporters.”
And when will he be able to bring joy to his new supporters?
“I will see how I feel from day to day. I have not played for around three months, but I am young, I am excited to join the team and I am ready to give my all to have success.”
