Ambroise Oyongo and Laurent Ciman selected for international duties

MONTREAL – Defenders Ambroise Oyongo and Laurent Ciman have been selected by their national teams to take part in upcoming international games.
Oyongo will join the Cameroonian national team for a preliminary camp in Equatorial Guinea from June 4 to 8. The Lions indomptables will play a 2019 Africa Cup of Nations qualification game against Morocco on June 10 at the Ahmadou Ahidjo Stadium, in Yaounde, followed by an international friendly against Colombia on June 13 at Estadio Alfonso Perez, in Madrid, Spain.
He will then take part in the 2017 FIFA Confederations Cup in Russia, from June 17 to July 2. As part of Group B, Cameroon will respectively face Chile on June 18 in Moscow, Australia on June 22 in St. Petersburg, and Germany on June 25 in Sochi.
Oyongo, 25, has played 25 games with Cameroon, helping the Lions indomptables win the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations after starting all six games. He scored his first goal on January 20, 2015, in a 1-1 draw with Mali in the Africa Cup of Nations. He started four 2018 World Cup qualifiers. He made his debut with the selection on September 6, 2014, against the Democratic Republic of Congo. He also took part in the U20 FIFA World Cup in 2011.

On the Belgian side, Ciman will return with the Red Devils for an international friendly against the Czech Republic on June 5 at Stade Roi Baudouin, in Brussels, followed by a UEFA Group H qualification game for the 2018 FIFA World Cup against Estonia, on June 9 at the Albert Le Coq Arena, in Tallinn.


Ciman, 31, has been a regular member of the Belgian national team since 2010, being part of the Belgian roster for the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil and Euro 2016 in France. He started the first group stage game of Euro 2016 against Italy on June 13, after scoring his first international goal on June 5 in a friendly against Norway. He made his official debut with the Red Devils on May 19, 2010, against Bulgaria. He has played 16 games so far, including qualifiers for the Euro 2012 and the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia. He also participated in the 2007 UEFA U21 Championship with Belgium and wore his country’s colours at the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing with the U23 team.
