Resigned Camara accepts fate, will miss home opener

HassounOuverture

Sent off last Saturday at San Jose after picking up two bookings, Hassoun Camara can only accept the decision and wait for his turn to come.

Although he is unhappy with his fate, Camara did reveal on Tuesday morning, however, that referee Baldomero Toledo took him aside after the game, recognizing that the first booking was “a little bit harsh,” he said.

While he appreciated Mr. Toledo’s gesture, Camara knows that there’s nothing he can do: he won’t be walking on the Olympic Stadium field this Saturday against Seattle (TICKETS – TVA Sports, 98,5fm & TSN Radio 690) and will have to wait for April 15, when Atlanta United FC comes to Stade Saputo, to play in front of the Bleu-blanc-noir faithful again.

“I was really looking forward to taking part in this home opener,” Camara said after Tuesday’s training session. “It’s always a big event in Montreal. The most important thing is the team. We must do whatever it takes to get those three points, because this is absolutely what we need to really get into our season.”
