A jersey with a distinct Montreal flavour

The Impact unveils its secondary jersey for 2017-2018

During its annual Members assembly and the official 2017 season launch, the Montreal Impact unveiled its brand new secondary jersey for the 2017 and 2018 seasons. As a matter of fact, to celebrate the city of Montreal’s 375th anniversary, this white jersey sports a couple of distinctive symbols.

The original coat of arms from 1833

The shield of the city’s very first coat of arms will embellish the player’s higher back, over their names. Still visible in many places in Montreal, like in the City hall’s council room and on the BMO headquarters in Place d’Armes, the oval coat of arms include symbols of the city’s four founding people: a rose for the English, a thistle for the Scottish, a clover for the Irish and a beaver for the French Canadian. Concordia Salus, the city’s motto which means “Salvation through Harmony”, adorns the top of the shield.

The logo of Montreal’s 375th anniversary

This year will see many celebrations in Quebec’s metropolis for its 375th anniversary of foundation by Paul de Chomedey, sieur de Maisonneuve and Jeanne Mance. As a proud Montrealer, the Impact wished to commemorate this historic event by incorporating the logo of the festivities at the bottom of the jersey.

Supporters can preorder the new secondary jersey on boutiqueimpactmontreal.com and on the Evangelista Sports website. It will soon be available in stores, at the Stade Saputo boutique and in Evangelista Sports stores.
