IMFC’s twelve days of Christmas - no. 11

12xmas_11

Traditionally, the twelve days of Christmas begin at, well, Christmas, or the next day. But Impact Media, like a kid presented with an Advent calendar, has no patience.

We thus give you our countdown of the Impact’s top twelve on-field moments in this unforgettable 2016 season.

And a partridge in a pear tree, of course.

11. May 7, 2016: Columbus 4-4 Montreal – Impact comes from behind in character-forging draw

If you turned off the television at 4-1 – boy, did you miss something!

At three goals down in Columbus, the Bleu-blanc-noir is uncomfortable. But the team shows just how much character it has: two quick goals from Didier Drogba and Nacho Piatti set up Dominic Oduro’s stoppage-time equalizer.

An argument between Federico Higuaín and Kei Kamara was a lowlight of this game, which pushed Crew SC’s season further down the drain: Kamara was traded to the Revolution, and Columbus only won one of its next 13 games. Revenge is sweet.
