MONTREAL – The Montreal Impact announced on Tuesday that the club has waived defender Maxim Tissot.

“We had to make this decision to free up a spot on our roster, allowing us to sign another player,” said Impact technical director Adam Braz. “We want to thank Maxim for his services to the first team in recent MLS seasons. We wish him all the best going forward.”

Tissot appeared in 44 games, including 22 starts, and 2,161 minutes in four MLS seasons between 2013 and 2016, recording five goals and one assist in MLS.

He also played in eight Canadian Championship games, including six starts, and nine CONCACAF Champions League games.
