For the first time, IMFC members voted to elect their Goal of the month and their Player of the month of March. The results are in: Nacho Piatti wins the award for his goal against Vancouver with a whopping 89% and Laurent Ciman is the members’ choice for the March Player of the month, raking in 61% of the votes!
Fans did not have to wait for long to be spoiled with the Goal of the month. Piatti served a masterpiece as only he knows how for the very first goal of the season versus Whitecaps FC. A nutmeg before cutting inside to enable the Argentine to finish clinically and powerfully in the bottom right corner sent the Impact on their way to a 3-2 win at BC Place.
The general Laurent Ciman started this season like he finished the last: with imperial control. His defensive stats speak for themselves. With 5 successful tackles, 15 interceptions and 30 clearances in 3 games, as well as a 81.6% pass completion rate, Ciman offers a solid platform to build upon in possession or to start a quick counter. He stays in the MLS elite to stop the opponents’ attacks.
