Academy report - Team building activity for the U18 team

TeamBuilding

The Impact U18 will return for the second part of its USSDA season in March, but before that, the new head coach, Yoann Damet, organized a team building activity to prepare the group for the competition.

“Taking over the group went well,” said Damet. “We slowly have to find our pace and collective bearings after a transition period where we focused on individual work. The group is really committed and eager to start playing again.”

Saturday morning, the Impact U18 went outdoors, near Stade Saputo. Damet prepared an obstacle course with challenges for the players. After all the group and duo competitions, players couldn’t help but put smiles on their faces.

“There were many goals. On one side, there was the physical aspect, where we wanted to have an aerobic type of activity since we are starting a preparation period,” added Damet. “We also wanted to promote communication and team bonding between the players, while being competitive with the different challenges.”

Impact U14 and U13 games

For the younger teams, the U14 and U13 groups were on the field to play friendlies over the weekend.

The Impact U14 faced Étoiles de l’Est, a Nova Scotia selection, Saint-Hubert and Repentigny. The Impact was put to the test against Étoiles de l’Est and played its best game against Saint-Hubert.

The U13 team, coached by Serge Dinkota, was also facing Saint-Hubert the same weekend in a game where the coach wanted to work on specific attacking and defending goals.

End of sport-études tryouts

The three sport-études tryout phases, presented by Nutrilait, are now over. Selected players and their parents met with the Academy staff to evaluate whether they will be able to join the Montreal Impact Academy.

On February 13 and 14, the Pre-Academy will hold its own tryouts for the U8, U9, U10, U11 and U12 groups.
