MONTREAL – Montreal Impact striker Didier Drogba was named the MLS Player of the Week for Week 30, as voted by the North American Soccer Reporters (NASR). Drogba scored three goals in two games over the last week, helping the team earn important wins as the team continues its push for the playoffs, against Chicago last Wednesday and D.C. United last Saturday.

He also helped the Bleu-blanc-noir establish a new MLS club record six-game unbeaten streak (4-0-2).

In addition, Drogba has been nominated for the AT&T Goal of the Week and was selected to the MLS Team of the Week for the third time in four weeks.

Since joining the Impact, he has recorded seven goals and one assist in six games, including five starts.

This is Drogba’s second Player of the Week title in September, after being named in Week 27, following his hat trick against the Chicago Fire.

The Impact will embark on a four-game series on the road, starting Saturday in Orlando at 7:30pm at the Citrus Bowl (TVA Sports, CJAD 800). The Impact will play its final home game of the season on Sunday, October 25 at 5pm in a derby against Toronto FC.
