The Montreal Impact Foundation donates $100,000 to the community

MONTREAL – The Montreal Impact celebrates its Foundation’s first anniversary on Tuesday and to underline the event, the Foundation announced that it is donating $100,000 to five organizations in the greater Montreal region:



These funds were raised primarily through donations by the Montreal Impact, from BMO and through the 2013 Centraide Cup.


“We are very pleased to be able to help these organizations in Montreal,” declared Joey Saputo, spokesperson for the Montreal Impact Foundation. “We are here to help children in need. Their quality of life has always been a priority and a responsibility of our organization.”


Inaugurated on August 26, 2013, the Montreal Impact Foundation established a mandate to organize and support activities to help improve the quality of life of disadvantaged children and their families.

Centraide Cup on September 6 and 7

The Montreal Impact Foundation and Centraide of Greater Montreal have joined forces for the third edition of the Centraide Cup, set for September 6 and 7 at Stade Saputo, from 9am to 6pm.


The 2014 edition of this one-of-a-kind tournament will bring together 31 teams representing different business and organizations from the greater Montreal area. The objective is to raise funds to fight poverty and social exclusion on the island and its surrounding areas.


As part of the festivities, a celebrity game involving some of the youth supported by Centraide and the Foundation is set for September 6 at noon, at Stade Saputo.


Montreal Impact players will be on hand throughout the weekend. There will also be animation, music, inflatable structures as well as access to the Cage aux Sports.


Admission for all games at both Stade Saputo and on the synthetic field is free and open to the public.
