Storylines: Four stories ahead of Saturday's game in Philadelphia

Storylines vs Philadelphia Union 20140329

The 2-0 shutout loss at Olympic Stadium last Sunday is definitely not the way the Impact envisioned its home opener. As such, a number of questions have been raised as the team heads to the city of brotherly love for its third away game of the season.

1. 3-1-1 all-time record versus Philly

With the Impact still looking for its first points of 2014, a game against the Union may be just what the doctor ordered as the team got points in four of its five matches versus Philadelphia.

2. Scoring drought

The bleu-blanc-noir have created a number of scoring chances, pushing up the field and firing a multitude of shots towards the goal. However, the team has been shutout over its last two games. Could the answer lie in storyline number 3 below?

3. The return of Di Vaio and Romero

Both striker Marco Di Vaio and midfielder Andrés Romero will be available for selection after serving identical three-game suspensions handed out in last season playoff knockout game in Houston. Di Vaio will bring a much needed dynamic to the attacking group. Romero will bring an additional option to the midfield, whether as a starter or off the bench.

4. Win!

After three consecutive losses in 2014, the Montreal Impact is one of only two teams without a point this season. Three points Saturday would bring the team from the basement to within a playoff spot.
