HOUSTON, Texas – Returning to the scene of the club’s defeat in its first ever playoff game, the Impact heads to Houston to avenge the 2013 knockout game loss this Saturday, taking on the Dynamo at BBVA Compass Stadium, at 8:30pm EDT.
The game will be broadcast live on TVA Sports as well as on the radio with CJAD 800. You can also get live updates using the newest version of the Impact mobile app or by following @impactmontreal on twitter.

This is the first of three regular season games between these teams in 2014. The two sides will also meet on June 29 at Stade Saputo and on September 6 in Texas.
Last season, the Impact and Houston Dynamo faced each other three times in the regular season and once in the MLS playoffs in 2013. In the first matchup on June 20, the Impact earned a fourth consecutive home victory at Stade Saputo, topping the Dynamo 2-0 on goals by Marco Di Vaio and Felipe. The Impact then shut out the Dynamo 5-0 at Stade Saputo on August 24, thanks in part to a brace by Di Vaio. In the third matchup, the Impact lost 1-0 to the Dynamo on October 4 at BBVA Compass Stadium. The Impact then fell 3-0 in the Eastern Conference Knockout Game, on October 31 in Houston.
Midfielders Justin Mapp and Patrice Bernier have both recorded one goal and three assists over their careers against the Dynamo
This will be the Impact’s second game of the season after a hard fought 3-2 loss to FC Dallas last Saturday.
Despite being defeated, the Impact bested its MLS team record with nine shots on goal on the road, doubling the output of the home side.
Andrew Wenger had a strong game, scoring an aerial header in the second half to bring his team within one, and midfielder Justin Mapp showed the form than garnered him a 2013 MLS All-Star inactive roster spot with over 70 touches in the game.
Saturday night also marked the debuts of rookies Eric Miller and Santiago Gonzalez, both new to MLS and the Impact.
This weekend’s contest could see a couple of important milestones reached for players, including Felipe, whose next start will be his 60th (first Impact player in MLS to reach this total), Jeb Brovsky, who is 80 minutes shy of 5,000 with club and Collen Warner, who is 71 minutes away from 5,000 for his career in MLS.
Nyassi, who had a solid start to the year, will be sidelined due to an injury suffered in the second half of last weekend’s matchup. Defenders Nelson Rivas, Adrian Lopez and Maxim Tissot will also miss the game.
Will Bruin scored after 63 seconds and again with 13 minutes gone and the Houston Dynamo crushed the New England Revolution 4-0 at home last weekend. Boniek García and Omar Cummings also scored in a 4-4-2 formation for the team’s first win of the season.
The Dynamo made very few changes in the offseason, preferring to stick with the group they had and allow for chemistry to build with the likes of Bruin and Giles Barnes up top as the starting striker tandem.
The orange did bring in Tony Cascio from Colorado in what was the first ever in-league loan in MLS history, but his availability is up in the air as he suffered an injury versus the Revs that might keep him out of action. The Dynamo also acquired rugged centre back David Horst from the Portland Timbers in an offseason trade, who put in a dominating performance on Saturday with a number of sliding tackles and aerial clearances.
The bleu-blanc-noir will then head back north to host its home opener on March 22 versus Clint Dempsey and the Seattle Sounders FC at Olympic Stadium, at 4pm EDT.
