MONTREAL – Montreal Impact defender Karl W. Ouimette has been selected by the Canadian men’s national soccer team for its upcoming training camp, in Bad Waltersdorf, Austria, from November 11 to 20.

During the camp, the national team will play its final two friendlies of the year, against the Czech Republic on November 15 in Olomouc, and then against Slovenia on November 19, in Celje.

This is the first ever selection for Ouimette with the senior men’s team. He has taken part in on Canadian youth teams, most notably at the U17 level in the CONCACAF qualification tournament in Mexico as well as in the U17 World Cup in Nigeria.

In 2013, in his second season in MLS, Karl W. Ouimette started six of his seven regular season appearances, scoring his first goal as a pro on October 19 at Stade Saputo, in what was the game-winner in a 2-1 victory over Philadelphia. He also started one game in the Canadian championship and one game in CONCACAF Champions League.
