Ticket sales rise to 32,000 for home opener against Chicago Fire

Olympic Stadium

MONTREAL - The Montreal Impact have announced on Wednesday that ticket sales for the home opener on March 17, at Olympic Stadium, against the Chicago Fire, have reached 32,000 tickets.

“Joey [Saputo] says the target for tickets sales is to sell it out the game, over 58,000 seats, which will be an attendance record for a professional game in Canada,” said MLS commissioner Don Garber. “If that happens, that would also be the largest regular season game in the history of MLS. So, go out and get your tickets. If you have got your tickets, go out and buy 10 more so we can break this record.”
The Impact will kick off its inaugural season in the North American first division on Saturday, March 10, against Canadian rival Vancouver Whitecaps FC, at 6pm (ET), at BC Place in Vancouver.
Season tickets for 2012 are still available and can be purchased via the team’s website at impactmontreal.com or by calling 514-328-3668. Individual tickets are available for the Olympic Stadium games via the Admission network.
