MIAMI 0 IMPACT 0

The Impact ended the game with only 10 players on the field, when defender Stefano Pesoli received a second caution in the 78th minute.

“We wanted to win tonight,” said Impact head coach Nick de Santis. “We put ourselves in a difficult position when Pesoli was ejected. We gave a lot of energy in the first half to create a lot of occasions. They were disorganized so we needed to take advantage of that because in the second half, it became more difficult for us.”

“We have to stay positive because the attitude, effort and commitment are there and we have to believe that if we keep working, things will turn around for us,” said goalkeeper Matt Jordan, who registered his third shutout of the season. “Yes we love to play at home but maybe it will be good for us to get back on the road to clear our heads.”

“It’s a serious test for our morale, said midfielder Patrick Leduc. We have not made it easy for our opponents but maybe we lacked precision on a few shots and precipitated a few actions. I think we have a harder time keeping a cool head and we become more nervous when we get a chance to score.”

The Impact remains undefeated against the Miami FC with a record of 3-0-4 (4GF-1GA).

Defender Nevio Pizzolitto was part of the starting lineup for the first time since April 25, in Atlanta, when he suffered a right shoulder dislocation.

Forward Nicolas Lesage played his first career game with the Impact when he replaced Charles Gbeke in the 70th minute. He had been called up by the Trois-Rivières Attak, the Impact reserve team, Tuesday.

For a third consecutive regular season game, the Impact played in front of a sold out stadium (13,034 tickets sold).

Defender Gabriel Gervais (thigh), midfielders Leonardo Di Lorenzo (thigh), Antonio Ribeiro (ankle) and David Testo (hip), as well as forward Roberto Brown (thigh) missed Wednesday’s game due to injuries.

The Impact will play its next two games against the Battery, this Saturday, in Charleston (7:30 pm, USLlive.com), then Friday, June 13, at Saputo Stadium (7:30, pm, Radio-Canada, CKAC Sports, TEAM 990, USLlive.com).
