The focus is now on decision-making for head coach Nick De Santis, as he hopes to lead a group of 21 to 23 players for the next trip in Florida, from March 19 to 31.
“We will be taking decisions in the next few days,” said De Santis. “The reason we are going to Florida is neither to recruit or observe players, but rather to get the team ready for next season. This being said, we are still looking for a forward.”
American forward Joey Gjertsen and French defender Cédric Joqueviel could not join the team on time for practice, following the most recent snowstorm. The two players took the last week off to visit their family.
The Impact also announced that forward Massimo Di Ioia has been released. Di Ioia, 20, played 23 games (six starts) in the last two seasons, tallying one goal and one assist, in 647 minutes of play.
