“I’m glad to be back with the Impact, said Braz. It’s an excellent organization and a very good team. I’m back at an exciting moment for the club because we will play in the new Saputo Stadium. I hope to help the team win a third championship.”
“Adam (Braz) has acquired a lot of experience in the MLS,” noted Impact head coach Nick De Santis. “He is a player who brings character to our team. He plays with emotion and it’s obvious on the field. Adam is very competitive.”
Braz, a 26-year-old Montreal native, had played 82 games with the Impact between 2002 and 2006. He helped the Impact win the championship in 2004 and show the best defense in the United Soccer Leagues First Division in 2005 and 2006, with only 15 goals allowed in 28 games. It will be for Braz his second comeback to Montreal, after playing the 2003 season with Vasteras SK, a second division Swedish club. In 2007, Braz played 13 games (773 minutes) with the Toronto FC, in the MLS.
Last season, Brown a 30-year-old forward from Panama, tallied one goal and two assists after joining the Impact on July 30. Brown also scored one goal and added one assist in the first game of the quarter-finals game against the Puerto Rico Islanders on September 14.
Braz and Brown will fly with the Impact to Italy, for a pre-season tour, which will kick off this Saturday, January 19 until February 1st. The Impact will also travel to Portugal from February 17 to 28. The Montreal team will kick off its 15th season in club history April 12 in Vancouver and will play the first game at Saputo Stadium, May 19, against their Canadian rivals.
