Gervais, Gbeke, Jordan and Di Lorenzo named to USL All-League Teams

The Impact is the USL team with the greatest number of players selected, with four nominations, tied with the Portland Timbers. Selections were made on a vote basis by the league's coaches and general managers.

“It's an honour for the club to have four players selected," said Impact head coach Nick De Santis. "These players have performed well all season long. It shows again that our team plays at a high level every year.”

Gervais became the fifth player in league history to be named for the sixth time to the first team, but the first to achieve this feat in six consecutive seasons. He also became the second player in Impact history to receive this honour six times, after team captain Mauro Biello. Gervais helped the club finish the campaign with the second-best defense in the league after allowing 21 goals. The Impact had an 11-2-4 record, in 17 games, when Gervais was on the starting line-up.

“Gabriel is a player who shows a lot of consistency, year in and year out, noted De Santis. He is one of the best defenders in the league and it’s not a surprise to see him in the first team every year.”

Forward Charles Gbeke is named to the All-League teams for the first time in his career. Gbeke was the top scorer in the First Division United Soccer Leagues, with10 goals, tying Seattle Sounders forward Sébastien Letoux. Gbeke also finished the season leading the Impact in points with 21, in 28 games (1,884 minutes). He ended the season first in the club in terms of game-winning goals (5), shots (75) and fouls (52).

Goalkeeper Matt Jordan, who missed five games due to a broken jaw, set two new team records, shutting out the opponent during six consecutive games, as well as not allowing a single goal during 622 minutes of play. He ended the season with 10 wins, 11 shutouts and a 0.649 goals-allowed average. He also became the third goalkeeper in Impact history to earn at least 10 shutouts in a season, after Paolo Ceccarelli and Greg Sutton.

Midfielder Leonardo Di Lorenzo earned a spot on the second all-league team for a second straight season, after having played the 28 games of the season (2295 minutes). He concluded the season third in points among the Impact players with three goals and four assists for 10 points.
