Miami FC 0 Impact 0

With this tie, the Impact is still only four points behind first place in the United Soccer Leagues First Division standings, held by the Portland Timbers (39 points).

Goalkeeper Matt Jordan, who was playing his first game since July 8, signed his sixth shutout of the season.

“I wanted to get back in the game and help out the team as soon as possible,” said goalkeeper Matt Jordan, who missed five games due to a broken jaw. “I felt good on the field with the mask. We have to keep our foot on the accelerator because the teams are close in the standings.”

“Overall, it became difficult in the second half,” mentioned head coach Nick De Santis. “I think the chances came in the first half but we weren’t able to score. If you don’t make any goals in the first half, especially at home, the other team starts getting confident. Miami also played well defensively. Nevertheless, a tie game is not that bad.”

The Impact remains undefeated (2-0-3) in five games against the Miami FC. In five match-ups, the Impact has still not conceded any goals to their Florida rivals.

The Impact, which will play a four-game stretch on the road, will meet the California Victory, Friday, August 16, at 10 pm (USLlive.com).
