Sunday's Impact game is sold out

Montreal’s last home game, July 24 against the Toronto Lynx, was played in front of 12,885 spectators at Claude-Robillard Sports Complex, a new Impact club record for a regular-season match-up.

This Sunday, a group of 2,000 people from l’Association trifluvienne de soccer and 2,000 fans from the Lanaudière Regional Soccer Association will be in attendance. The game is also the Uniprix Promotional Day.

In its first six home games this season, the Impact played before an average of 11,493 spectators per game at Claude-Robillard Sports Complex, a 23.9% increase compared to last year’s average attendance.

The overall attendance record for an Impact game was set on September 18 of last year, as 13,648 fans attended the championship game against the Seattle Sounders.

Since the club was relaunched in 2002, attendance has always been on the rise, with an average of 5,174 spectators per game in 2002, 7,236 fans in 2003, and 9,279 last season.

In 17 games played this season, the Impact has lost only once (11-1-5). Nick De Santis squad lost 2-1, last Friday, in Atlanta, against those Silverbacks. The Impact is still on top of the First Division United Soccer Leagues standings with 38 points.
