Impact to play a promotional game for the Quebec Breast Cancer Foundation

All profits for the match will be donated to the Quebec Breast Cancer Foundation. Montreal Impact president, Joey Saputo, will be the honorary chairman of the event.

During the festivities, the Impact will play a 40-minute game (2x20min) against a squad composed of members from the CFCF television station, the Q92 radio station as well as coaches from the Lasalle Minor Soccer Association, including technical director Lloyd Barker, who is assistant coach with the Impact.

“I’m very happy to be associated with such an important cause,” said Montreal Impact president Joey Saputo. “All members of this team have a role to play in the community. We are proud to help in raising funds for research.”

“I learned earlier this year that my younger sister had breast cancer and right away, I thought of doing something to help,” said Lasalle Minor Soccer Association president Frank Vinhal. “I contacted the Montreal Impact and some partners. What started out as a small idea has become really big, and we’re thrilled.”

“It’s an excellent initiative from the Lasalle Minor Soccer Association, for a noble cause,” said Impact assistant coach Lloyd Barker. “It will be a positive experience for everyone. For the coaches and the kids, it will be a very special moment.”

“I’ve been living in Lasalle for the last 32 years and I’m proud that the team is participating in this event,” said Impact team manager, Mike Moretto, who is also member of the organizing committee. “I hope that people will participate and that it will be a great success.”

Tickets are on sale for $5 and can be purchased at the Lasalle Minor Soccer Association at 514-367-6524 and at 514-231-8881.

Players aged under-18 wearing their uniform will be able to attend the game free of charge. Many door prizes will be distributed and inflatable games will be present on the site.

The Quebec Breast Cancer Foundation is committed to funding breast cancer research, promoting education and awareness and supporting people touched by the disease.
