PROFESSIONAL
2016: Named the Impact Defensive Player of the Year after recording two goals and two assists in 27 games, including 26 starts, and 2,249 minutes of play… Became the first player in Impact history to reach 100 MLS career starts on August 20 against the Chicago Fire… Reached 10,000 career minutes with the Impact in NASL and MLS on June 25 against Kansas City… Reached 100 career MLS games on July 2 against New England… Selected once to the MLSsoccer.com Team of the Week, three times the Videotron Player of the Game and twice the Members’ Player of the Month, in June and August… Started both Amway Canadian Championship games… Started all five MLS Cup Playoffs games.

2015: Played two games in the CONCACAF Champions League Championship Stage, including one start, and helped the team reach the final against Mexican giant Club América… Appeared in nine regular season games, including five starts and 478 minutes played, in his fourth MLS season… Missed most of the regular season due to a thigh injury… Played in the Knockout Round game against Toronto during the MLS Cup Playoffs… Also played three games with FC Montreal in the USL, two as a starter… Signed a new contract with the Impact on December 11.

2014: Finished second on the Impact with 26 starts and 2,365 minutes played, recording one goal and one assist in 28 total appearances…Selected in the MLSsoccer.com Team of the Week on Week 1… Helped the team win a second consecutive Amway Canadian championship, starting all four games… Started three games in the CONCACAF Champions League.

2013: Finished second on the Impact in the regular season with 32 starts and 2,874 minutes played, fourth with three goals and tied for fifth with three assists… Played as a central defender and fullback during the season… Started the Eastern Conference Knockout Round game against Houston in the MLS Cup Playoffs… Selected in the MLSsoccer.com Team of the Week on Week 18 and three times by the fans as the Videotron Player of the Game… Also helped the team win the Amway Canadian Championship, scoring one goal in four starts and 360 minutes played… Scored one goal in four CONCACAF Champions League games, including three starts.

2012: Recorded one goal and two assists in 20 games, including 19 starts, registering 1,663 minutes of play in his first MLS season… Appeared once in the Canadian Championship… Started three MLS Reserve League games… Also played in international matches against Bologna FC and ACF Fiorentina during the post-season tour in Italy.

2011: Joined the Impact on February 7 after taking part in the team’s invitational camp in January… Received the Giuseppe-Saputo Trophy, awarded to the Impact’s Most Valuable Player at the conclusion of the regular season, after leading the team with 22 starts in as many games… Also played the second-most minutes on the team, with a total of 1,949 minutes… Played as defender and midfielder, registering two goals and one assist… Selected to the NASL All-Star team… Signed a new contract with the Impact for Major League Soccer on October 11.

2009/2010: Played one game with SC Bastia in France’s Ligue 2.

2008/2009: Played 26 games with SC Bastia, recording three goals and one assist.

2007/2008: Began the season with Olympique de Marseille before being transferred to Ligue 2’s SC Bastia in January 2008, registering one goal in 12 games with his new team… Scored his first professional goal on February 22, 2008, against Libourne-Saint-Seurin… Also played in one Coupe de la Ligue game.

2006/2007: Part of French first division club Olympique de Marseille, joining the team in July 2006, but only played one Cup game at Montpellier… Mostly played with Marseille’s reserve team.

YOUTH
Previously played from 2003 to 2006 in the CFA, France’s fourth division, with his hometown club Olympique Noisy-le-Sec Banlieue 93… Was recruited by that club in 1995 at 11 years old… Played well in a Coupe de France game against Auxerre… Glasgow Rangers, Le Mans, Rennes and Marseille all subsequently showed interest in him.

PERSONAL
Son of Ibrahima Camara and Sabé Thiongane… Started the Fondation Hassoun Camara, which helps kids from Western Africa… Co-owner of the Osè African Cuisine restaurant, in Paris… His origins are from Senegal… Holds his Canadian permanent residency.
