IMFC’s twelve days of Christmas - no. 8

12xmas_8

Traditionally, the twelve days of Christmas begin at, well, Christmas, or the next day. But Impact Media, like a kid presented with an Advent calendar, has no patience.

We thus give you our countdown of the Impact’s top twelve on-field moments in this unforgettable 2016 season.

And a partridge in a pear tree, of course.

8. April 16, 2016: Chicago 1-2 Montreal – Piatti makes difference in stoppage time

The Impact thought it had picked up a deserved tie at Chicago after a beautiful back-heeled goal by Didier Drogba before the hour-mark. Nacho Piatti had another idea.

The Argentinean had seen Kennedy Igboananike score with a wonder strike from the left side in the first half, and he wasn’t about to leave the spotlight on him. In the dying seconds, Piatti picks up a sweet pass by Dominic Oduro and curls one – from the outside of the area – at the far post to clinch a win for the Bleu-blanc-noir. We’ll have extra cheese with our Nacho, please.
