MONTREAL – The Montreal Impact announced on Monday that former Impact striker Eduardo Sebrango has been named head coach of the Impact U14 team.

Sebrango, a holder of the national B coaching licence, returns to the Impact Academy, which he joined in 2011 before making a comeback as a player with the Montreal Impact for the first MLS season in club history.

“Eduardo Sebrango proudly and successfully represented and defended the colours of the club in the past, and we are happy to work with him again,” said the Academy Director Philippe Eullaffroy. “He will be able to share his passion and desire to win with the boys at the Academy, as well as teaching them our principles and helping them progress.”

“I’m happy for this opportunity and excited to start,” said Eduardo Sebrango. “It’s important for me to share my passion for the club that I know really well. Giving my experience, I know what the expectations are for the young players.

The new coach played with the Impact in the North American second division from 2005 to 2009 and then from 2009 to 2011, scoring 51 goals and delivering 11 assists in 149 regular season games. He then played seven MLS games in 2012 before retiring as a professional player.
