The captain takes the stand this week: artist Steven Rosati has chosen Patrice Bernier as inspiration for the LA Galaxy game poster. We can see IMFC’s number 8 celebrating a goal over a multicolour, spotted canvas.
“Being a portrait painter, illustrator and big sports fan, I jumped at the opportunity to illustrate this great player and Quebecer, Patrice Bernier. In my illustration, I pieced together an image of Bernier showing the excitement and action celebrating a goal. The explosion of colours represents the fans, their cheers and excitement.”
In collaboration with Festival Mural, Infopresse, the Montreal Gazette and Urbania, the first edition of the Impact Art contest allows artists and supporters of the Montreal Impact to let their pencil express their feelings toward the Bleu-blanc-noir and convey the players under different inspirations. The winners will get the chance to see their creation become the official poster of a Montreal Impact home game, as well as winning two tickets for the game of their choice at Stade Saputo.
