Impact head coach Mauro Biello spoke to the Montreal media by conference call, this Friday afternoon, and once more, Designated Player Didier Drogba drew attention. Biello thus confirmed that Drogba would indeed play in Frisco against FC Dallas, this Saturday at 9pm EDT (TVA Sports 2 [pre-game show at 8:30pm] & CJAD 800 AM).

Drogba took part in a first training session with his teammates in Texas this Thursday, after more than a week with the USL’s Sacramento Republic. Drogba’s stay in California went well, Biello said, adding that Drogba was not 100 percent fit just yet.

Biello did not reveal whether Drogba would be part of the starting lineup or on the bench against Dallas. It has been confirmed, however, that Drogba will fly back to Montreal after the game. A decision on his future training program will be made sometime next week, depending on the Montreal weather, among other factors.
