The Impact U14 will play a tournament in France

Neuville

MONTREAL – The Montreal Impact Academy announced on Friday that its U14 team will take part in the Tournoi international U15 de Neuville sur Saône, in France, from May 14 to 16.

This prestigious tournament brings together 16 teams from France and abroad, divided into four groups.

In 2015, Newcastle United (English Premier League) won the tournament. The English club will be back this year to defend its title. Other clubs involved in the competition include Sporting Clube de Portugal (Primeira Liga), Olympique de Marseille (Ligue 1) and Olympique Lyonnais (Ligue 1).

“It’s a special event that the young players will be eager to be part of,” said the new Impact U14 head coach Mathieu Rufié. “It will be a fulfilling trip on the human and athletic levels. Given the quality of the teams that have been announced, I think the players will want to do well and proudly represent the Montreal Impact.”
