After what he called a tough first season, Jamaican forward Romario Williams is looking to make his mark with the club in 2016.

“It was a tough year last season not seeing a lot of games,” said the U23 national team member. “My goal for this season is getting minutes to help the team. I want to be in contention to get minutes.”

Williams managed to get into only nine games as a pro, just two with IMFC for a total of seven minutes, along with seven starts with FC Montreal, but is looking to better those numbers by a large margin this season.

And with a new season comes new opportunities and new spirit.

“Training camp has been great and exciting. There is a lot of camaraderie and the guys have been pushing each. It’s been intense, but there have been a lot of smiles.”

When asked if he’s going to score his first MLS goal in 2016, Williams said one word.

“Absolutely!”
