ORLANDO, Florida – The Montreal Impact will see its first action of the preseason on Thursday morning, at 10:30am, against the New York Red Bulls in Orlando Florida. The game will be streamed live.

The game will be divided in three periods of 45 minutes, with players expected to play approximately 45-60 minutes each.

“It’s an opportunity to get all our players some minutes,” said Impact head coach Mauro Biello. “We can evaluate some players and confirm others who are already in the group. During the first week of camp we worked on our offensive organization, building creating and finishing. This week we worked on our defensive organization, being compact, closing down and shifting as a unit. We are looking to apply those principles as a group tomorrow.”

“It’s the first game against another team for us,” said goalkeeper Evan Bush. “They may be ahead of us because they’ve played a few games already, but it’s a measuring stick of where we are in camp and an opportunity to work on the things we’ve been trying to implement so far.”

The Bleu-blanc-noir will then return to Montreal on Friday and continue training camp at Olympic Stadium all next week, before playing a friendly against FC Montreal on Saturday, February 13.

The team will then return to Florida to take part in the Tampa Bay Rowdies Suncoast Invitational, in St.Petersburg, from February 15 to 28, playing four games against New York City FC, D.C. United, Toronto FC, and the Tampa Bay Rowdies.

The Montreal Impact will play its opening match of the 2016 season in Montreal on Saturday, March 12, at Olympic Stadium against the defending regular season champions New York Red Bulls. The Impact plays its season opener the previous Sunday, March 6, against the Vancouver Whitecaps FC at BC Place, at 5:30pm ET (RDS, TSN).
