Impact clinches 2015 MLS Playoff berth

FOXBOROUGH – For the second time in four MLS seasons, the Montreal Impact has officially clinched a berth in the MLS Cup Playoffs, Saturday night, following a 1-0 win against the New England Revolution, in Foxborough.

The Impact is currently in 4th place in the Eastern Conference, but can still finish in second spot. If the Impact finishes second, the team will have a bye directly to the Eastern Conference semifinals. If the team concludes the season in third or fourth place, there will be a playoff knockout game at Stade Saputo on Wednesday, October 28 or Thursday, October 29. Finally, if the Impact finishes fifth or sixth, that knockout game will be played on the road.
The Conference Semifinals and Conference Championship matches will then be two game aggregate goal series. The first leg of the Conference Semifinals will be played on Sunday, November 1 and the second leg on Sunday, November 8.
Following a FIFA international break from November 9 to 17, the Conference Championship matches will begin with the first leg on Sunday, November 22 and close out on Sunday, November 29.
Of the two clubs that reach the MLS Cup, the team with the better regular season record will host the championship game on Sunday, December 6.
The Impact qualified for the MLS Playoffs for the first time in club history in 2013 after finishing fifth in the Eastern Conference.
IMFC will conclude its regular season at Stade Saputo on Sunday, October 25, at 5pm EDT (RDS, TSN, 98,5fm, TSN 690 Radio), against its rivals Toronto FC.
