MONTREAL – The Montreal Impact announced Tuesday that Nigerian centre back Gege Soriola has joined the club. As per MLS policy, details of the deal were not disclosed.
Soriola, 25, has played the last three seasons with South African club Free State Stars, in the Premier Soccer League, playing 40 games, 37 as starter. He previously played for Nigerian clubs: JUTH F.C., Bayelsa United F.C. and Heartland. He also played in the CAF Champions League (Confederation of African Football).
At the international level, Soriola played eight games with Nigeria’s senior national team. He also played with the Nigerian U23 team.
