"It’s early still, but we are pleased with the way the team has played, staying compact in the middle for the most part and forcing the play down the wings whenever there is an opening," said assistant coach Mauro Biello. "More importantly, we want to be more aggressive when we lose the ball."

Offensively, the team is looking to add more of a dynamic from its full-backs.

"It’s important that we have support from our lateral players in the system we want to play, Biello told Impact Media. "Having Hernan Bernardello in front of the centre-backs allows for our fullbacks to support the attack."

On the defensive side of the ball, the Impact is looking at improving the communication, following a 3-0 loss to the New York Red Bulls, on Saturday.

"Communication will be key in refining our defensive play," Biello explained. "It’s important that the lines of communication are properly established, between the fullbacks and lateral midfielders, between the centre-backs and the midfielders. This will allow us to be more active offensively, but will also permit for added support with we lose the ball."
