Patrice Bernier - "The playoff race is open"

With the travel, the time change, and the roster adjustments following injuries and suspensions, the match against the LA Galaxy on Wednesday will prove to be a tough road test for the Montreal Impact.

Midfielder Patrice Bernier knows what’s at stake as the Impact prepares for another crunch matchup against an opponent who’s also fighting for a playoff spot.

“They are great team, easily one of the top teams in the league moving the ball forward and we cannot take them lightly,” said midfielder Patrice Bernier. “They are fighting for a playoff spot as well and they have some serious talent on their roster.”

And the key to unlock a good road result Wednesday night will be in the hands of the 11 guys wearing the jersey for the first whistle.

“We have to make sure that we don’t give one inch away,” expounded Bernier. “We have to be creative in our movement and find the right people who score goals with good passes. We are a good team collectively and the individual performances stand out when the entire team performs.”

“We have three games left and we can’t dwell on the games,” he explained. “The future is Wednesday and that’s where our focus has to be. The first step is to commit; that cliché that we have to give 110%. The playoff race is open as only a couple of teams have clinched a spot at this point. We believe.”
