MONTREAL, July 17, 2013 – The Montreal Impact announced on Wednesday that 12 players from the first team are currently under contract for the 2014 season: goalkeepers Troy Perkins and Evan Bush, defenders Jeb Brovsky, Hassoun Camara and Matteo Ferrari, midfielders Patrice Bernier, Felipe, Justin Mapp, Sanna Nyassi, Blake Smith and Collen Warner, as well as forward Andrew Wenger.

Plus the young graduates from the Academy, who continue to develop their skills and integrate into the club’s first team: goalkeeper Maxime Crépeau, defenders Wandrille Lefèvre, Maxim Tissot and Karl W. Ouimette, as well as midfielder Zakaria Messoudi.

Impact president Joey Saputo also confirmed that he is not expecting to make a wave of changes to the team, despite its recent struggles.

“From the start of the season, our objective this year was to make the playoffs. Still today, we are working to achieve that goal. We are in an excellent position to do just that. All good teams go through difficult stretches, but we just have to work hard to get out of it. I believe in the character and experience of our roster.”

However, the club is seriously studying the possibility of adding one or two players to its roster with the playoffs and the CONCACAF Champions League matches on the horizon.

The Impact also announced that the club has loaned midfielders Sinisa Ubiparipovic and Calum Mallace to second division side Minnesota United FC, of the North American Soccer League (NASL), pending approval of their International Transfer Certificates.
