MLS All-Star: Why you should vote for Marco Di Vaio

Marco Di Vaio 2013 MLS All-Star

Six Impact players have made it onto the ballot of the next MLS All-Star game.

And just in case you needed some arguments, here are three reasons why you should vote for striker Marco Di Vaio.

Di Vaio's hat-trick vs Philadelphia

1. Goal. Scoring. MACHINE.

He is currently second in league goal scoring, having found the back of the net nine times in just 12 games played. He is just one back of league leader Jack McInerney of the Philadelphia Union, but the young American has played three more games. The Italian even showed McInerney how was it done when he bagged a hat-trick in 30 minutes against the Union on May 25 at Stade Saputo.

2. Hitting the target

The Impact Designated Player has managed to hit the goal with 23 of his 40 shots, which is best in the league. If it were not for some heroic stops by opposing goalkeepers, he could easily be in the lead in the scoring race.

3. At the top of his game

The veteran Italian striker came into camp in excellent shape and has since started all but one game for the Impact this season, having come on as a substitute and even managed to score in that one, proving he’s still at the top of his game.

For sentimental reasons, an honorable mention should go to the fact that the all-stars are playing a team from Di Vaio’s homeland and former league in which he spent nearly two decades: the Serie A giants AS Roma. And guess what: the Impact number 9... was born in Rome!
