Troy Perkins - "Portland is a whole new team"

Troy Perkins

Goalkeeper Troy Perkins is anxious to return to Portland to face off against his former Timbers teammates, this Saturday, at 10:30pm (ET).

With all the changes made since his departure, the Impact goalkeeper doesn’t recognize the team.

“There are so many new guys there, that it’s like a total different team,” said Perkins to Impact Media. “I’m going back to where I played, but I don’t know many of the guys left.”

Even if the supporter at JELD-WEN Field continues to be strong, Perkins explained that the Impact should be able to manage the game, especially after winning its first match last weekend in Seattle.

“The Timbers will have great support from their fans,” he explained. “But, it should be a little easier to deal with after having already experienced that type of support once before, in Seattle, with an even larger crowd.”
