Moments of 2012 - Record crowd against the Galaxy

Impact LA Galaxy Moments 2012 EN

For the second time in a matter of a couple of months, the Montreal Impact broke the attendance record at Olympic Stadium for a soccer game. The Impact and the LA Galaxy played to a 1-1 draw in front of a record crowd of 60,860 spectators. Another historic day in the club’s history in MLS was written on May 12, 2012.

A few months prior to the game, the sales team’s phones were ringing off the hook to purchase

Then the day before the game, more than 50 reporters showed up for the LA Galaxy press conference in which Beckham addressed the media with humour and generosity in his responses.

In classic David Beckham fashion, on game day, he curled a free-kick around the outside of the wall from about 25 yards out to tie the game at one… the cherry on top of what was the first experience in MLS for thousands of Montreal spectators both live and in front of their televisions.
