With Friday’s announcement of the Montreal Impact’s training tour in Italy, Impact Media spoke to forward Marco Di Vaio about the two teams he will be facing as he knows them really well. The Impact’s Designated Player played 342 games in the Italian first division, including four seasons in Bologna.

“The players are very pleased about this tour,” said Di Vaio. “It’s a good way for the team to develop more chemistry, especially playing two games against two prestigious Serie A clubs.”

Part of the tour will take the 36-year-old back to face his old teammates from Bologna in a friendly match.

“It will be a special moment for me to return to Bologna,” he added. “I spent four wonderful seasons with the club, I was the captain and I look forward to going back, but this time as the opponent.”

The Impact departs for Italy on November 5 and will face off against Bologna on November 8, before heading to Florence to take on ACF Fiorentina on November 15.
