Supporters Day at Stade Saputo on October 27

Supporters Day 2012 English

MONTREAL – The Montreal Impact announced on Friday that the club plans to thank its supporters during the final game of the season, on Saturday, October 27, when the Impact hosts the New England Revolution, at 2pm (ET).

After the game, the Impact will organize an historic photo opportunity with hundreds of fans on the field. As “behind every player is a supporter,” the club will ask supporters to make a wall on the field, with Impact players, to defend against a free-kick.

“ Thanks to the backing of our supporters, the atmosphere at the stadium was electric at every single game ”

Season ticket holders, who have confirmed their attendance with the club, will take part in this special photo opportunity. A Facebook contest, starting next week, will give other supporters a chance to participate as well. Supporters must wear blue for the occasion.

As part of Supporters Day, Impact tuques sponsored by Kia will be given to the first 8,000 people at Stade Saputo, while an official team poster, thanks to Coors Light, will be given away following the game, as well as rebates of up to 50% on selected items at the boutique.

In addition, a special guest singer will perform the national anthems and the percussionist group Samajam will also take part in the festivities inside the stadium.

“We would like to thank our season ticket holders and all the club’s supporters who helped create a memorable first year in MLS,” said Impact executive vice-president Richard Legendre. “Thanks to the backing of our supporters, the atmosphere at the stadium was electric at every single game and we became one of the toughest teams to play at home. The icing on the cake will be the unique photo, which will undoubtedly be an unforgettable experience.”
